Hello from South Carolina! We enjoy an active lifestyle and the outdoors and would love to share our lives with a child. It’s exciting to be on this path to becoming first-time parents through adoption! After we adopt, Katie will become a stay-at-home mom. We look forward to making memories as parents!
Faith, family and friends are extremely important to us. If you’d like, we are open to keeping in touch throughout your child’s life and hope for the chance to get to know you.
Our Story
We met at a dinner with friends, and then were set up on a double date with Katie’s sister and Steve’s friend. That was 13 years ago, and we’ve been happily married for 11 years. We’ve always wanted to have a family and are ready to adopt our first child! As parents, we will provide a supportive, loving home, with a God-centered family and purpose-filled life.
We would love to pass on our love for the outdoors, for hunting (if they are interested), sports, and big family get-togethers. Steve would be excited to teach our child how to fly an airplane and Katie would love to share her love for basketball!
Together we enjoy:
• Lake days on the boat with family and friends
• Cheering for our favorite sports team (at home or at the stadium!)
• Traveling the US (we like touring vineyards when we find them)
• Playing games
• Volunteer to fundraise for causes close to our heart, like Make-a-Wish or the American Heart Association
Meet Katie
Right now I work for a bank, assisting large commercial clients. After we adopt, we’re planning for me to stay at home with our child full time, and I’m so excited!
According to Steve: Katie is loving, giving, compassionate, and selfless. She adores playing with her nieces and nephews or our friends’ children. I know she will be a devoted and supportive mother who will help our children succeed in life.
Katie likes to:
• Watch movies or listen to music
• Work out at the gym
• Play basketball
• Go to the beach
• Swim at the lake
Meet Steve
I am a pilot for a major US airline. I absolutely love flying and the ability to travel all around North America and the Caribbean for work. I get to explore new cities while on my trips and enjoy meeting new people while I’m on the road.
According to Katie: Steve is my favorite person! He is fun, witty, selfless, and caring. He loves to take care of others, whether it’s cooking a meal or just checking in on them. Children are drawn to Steve because he’s always willing to play at their level. He will be the best dad, always encouraging our child to follow their dreams.
Steve likes to:
• Go hunting (and teach others how to hunt safely)
• Cook
• Go to the gym
• Spend time with Katie on the boat
• Host cookouts with friends
• Follow Clemson football and Atlanta Braves baseball
• Fly and travel!
Our Home in South Carolina
We live in a 4 bedroom home with a large backyard, complete with a sunshade and grill perfect for lazy Saturdays at home. Our large neighborhood is in a quiet part of town, with a local park and walking trail nearby. We are converting a room next to our bedroom to become our future child’s nursery.
Our Family
Steve has family who live close, and Katie’s family is just a few hours away. We also have close friends who we spend time with often. We come from big families with 3 nieces and 6 nephews (so many cousins!). Whether our family lives nearby or out of town, we visit as often as we can. Everyone is excited about our plans to adopt!
Our Promise
We promise to give your child a loving, stable home where we put God and family first. We will encourage our children to work hard in school and go after the path God has for them. We promise to provide the resources and opportunity for education and support to help your child reach for his or her dreams and grow their strengths and talents. We’ll make sure nothing holds your child back from who they are meant to be!
We welcome an open adoption and will be happy to share updates with you, such as monthly letters and pictures, or yearly updates. We want to hear what you’d be comfortable with, or how you picture your child’s adoption! We will always talk openly with our child about how we came together through adoption. You will always be a special part of our family.
